Stellar Meris (*1990) is a Berlin-based artist working across painting, performance, and participatory formats. Their practice engages with queer and decolonizing memory work, investigating how histories of violence, belief systems, and colonial entanglements are embodied and transmitted. Raised in an evangelical congregation in Switzerland, which they left at 17 due to its authoritarian structures and anti-trans policies, Meris approaches the body as a site of both ideological inscription and transformation.
